Learn more about your body and the causes of food sensitivities

Take control of your body by identifying your Food Sensitivities.

Food Sensitivities will make you unwell, but what are they?

Food sensitivities are a regular pain for a large proportion of us. Essentially, most of us do not have a clue what they are or what impact they are having on our body. We do know that our body reacts in different ways to certain food items. What we don’t know unless we have taken part in a food sensitivity test is in what way our body will react. Different from an allergy, almost all of us will have a sensitivity to foods we didn’t know we had.

How can we identify and stop Food Sensitivities?

Quite often, we don’t recognise that we have a sensitivity to a particular food. This is extremely common if we have tried to self-diagnose ourselves after experiencing regular symptoms. Different from an allergy, food sensitivities can cause a reaction up to 72 hours later. If we’ve had a busy week and aren’t keeping a food journal, then we most likely will forget what we had that long ago, and not think of it as the culprit!

tmmilk - Food SensitivityRealising that you are sensitive to certain foods is not the greatest feeling, but it isn’t a disaster as we can cope. People can usually tolerate a decent amount of the food that they are sensitive to, but if they eat too much they will get symptoms as their body cannot tolerate certain amounts. Ultimately, we should try to catch food sensitivities as they can often be the cause of a chronic illness or make symptoms worse.

Having identified what foods you are sensitive to, you should try and phase out the offending food from your diet. Your body should react in a positive way once you’ve removed the food from your diet. You can then bring it back and see how much your body can tolerate. However, we would advise that you slowly reintroduce the sensitive item back into your diet, meaning you can realise how much of the food you can allow into your body before the symptoms kick in.

If you have taken a food sensitivity test, then you can now look forward to your results. These results will tell you what is most likely causing harm to your body. If the results are not what you wanted or expected, then our team will do everything we can to help you. Talking and liaising with our in-house nutritionist, we can help to set you on your way to regaining control of your health and diet. Freshening up your diet with healthy foods which your body can tolerate, the team here at Test My Food Sensitivity will make sure your body is getting all the nutrients you need. Further, they will have a chat with you about whether you need to get rid of a certain food or food group from your diet.
